David’s family has been in the restaurant business since 1958. They owned 5 Petrini’s Italian restaurants in Santa Barbara, (one is still there) so David grew up in the business. He opened his Petrini’s in San Diego back in 2006 and we had it until June of 2017. We sold it to a great family who kept everything and employees the same. Our motto is La Familia Mangia. (The family eats). We bring this to our food trailer today. We believe in serving food that is made from tried and true family recipes and is fresh everyday. We handcraft our own Italian sausage, meatballs, Italian beef, marinara sauce and our family makes our own Italian dressing as well as our famous wing sauce. We came out here specifically to start a food trailer. Our family even had a Petrini’s in Scottsdale in the 80’s until they sold it. So our Petrini name is a staple in the communities we grew up in. Today David and I take great pride in our food trailer business and look forward to many years here in the valley.
We specialize in serving a variety of hummus made from scratch. We have a restaurant located in Tempe that has been open for 5 years. Our menu is fresh and healthy oriented with focus on high quality veggies, legumes and grains but we also serve some of the best gyros!

What and Who inspired me to get to where we are today, which is hopefully, looked upon as a team who strives to deliver a little aloha to each and every one of our Flyin Hawaiians. Yeah, I have done the majority of your “everyday” kitchen and restaurant jobs, I’m not a culinary grad, a corporate chef, classically trained, none of that, My first real job(besides a quick Golden Arches stint) was washing dishes at Roy Yamaguchis Hawaii Kai location in 88 I believe, I saw the beginning of what is now a pretty impressive empire, not to say I want that nor feel I could achieve that, what I can and hopefully do achieve, putting out a product made with aloha, a product that a family of five will pay for and smile when they eat it. So, through the years, lots of them, lol! I did lots of things, eventually I ended up in Portland, OR, met my wife and to make a crazy long story short, somehow, I ended up writing a business plan, while working for Tower Records, got a loan (from my Dad) what! It was a good business plan, the part about the partner that robbed us, I left that out, so we moved forward at the age of 26, I was running a neighborhood bar and grill, it was sink or swim. I had my childhood friend who had also felt the wrath of said thief, we developed a great scene at our little spot and were always tinkering with different menus and specials and what not. The bar had a tiny little kitchen but we made it work, after a good run, we sold, partnered up with the guy I bought the first spot from, took over a breakfast and lunch cafe with an attached full service bar. This is where I really developed the menu that you will, generally see on the truck today, we revamped the kitchen completely, and really took pride in what we were doing. At the same time, the food truck craziness was in full swing in Portland, the revolution had started for sure and well I couldn’t resist.

Que Sazon Food Truck offers a South American meets American Flare Fusion. We offer Arepas that are a Colombian-Venezuelan influenced “open face sandwiches made from corn.” Served with flavorful shredded pork and chorizo topped with crispy plantains or shredded chicken with fresh mango and our signature Chimichurri aioli sauce. There are many other fantastic items to try for everyone’s palate. Chef Fabian does everything he can to make “art on a plate” and incredible and flavorful dishes to serve the Maricopa County.

Ariana has received formal training has an Executive Pastry Chef and graduated at the top of her class under the close mentorship of Carlton W. Brooks CEPC, CCE, AAC who is the ACF Western Region Vice President and started her own bakery business, Sweet Thangs Bakery, in 2015 at the age of 18. In 2016 she expanded to a food trailer serving her made from scratch bakery items as well as gourmet coffee and tea creations. Now with help of her parents Mary & Rick Zeiner she has purchased Waffle Crush. She will be adding innovative dessert and savory waffles to the menu as well as monthly specialty waffles. We will be further expanding the menu on the new Sweet Thangs Bakery and Cafe Truck.
